MT-SBA
Fragile srl uses a multi-temporal InSAR analysis (MT-SBA) which is based on the Small Baseline Subset (SBAS) approach. This method allows us to solve successfully for non-linear deformation in time and to model and remove error terms related for instance to topographic artifacts and atmospheric disturbances.
The results of MT-SBA consist in time series of displacements (incremental or cumulative) along the satellite line-of-sight (LOS) as well as values of mean velocity (along the LOS) in the observation period. Typically the numerical values obtained by this approach are extremely precise (sub-centimeter) and allow to accurately appreciate the evolution of the deformation phenomena with time.
The limitation of MT-SBA technique is related to the possibility of measuring data almost exclusively in correspondence of stable reflectors (houses, outcrops, infrastructures) characterized by high values of coherence.
